Concentration in Italian
Studies
This concentration offers a unique opportunity
for students to deepen their appreciation of Italian and Italian
American literature, history, and culture. Students are exposed
to the major intellectual, artistic, and cultural contributions
that Italians and Italian Americnas have made throughout history,
as they complete 21 credit hours of approved coursework. Concentration
requirements include:
6 credits in Italian language (IT 200 or above)
6 credits in Italian American literature (ML 260 and 1 course of
ML 265, 270 or HS 342
9 credits in Italian culture (3 courses from HS 405, 411; AH 303,
430; ML 275, 280, 285, 320, 325, 350)
Upon completion of the concentration core, a
Certificate in Italian Studies will be granted and it will be duly
noted on the student's transcript as an area of concentration. |
