We the People Program

Program is conducted in various local schools
Cleveland ,  OH  44118

Phone: (216) 397-4698

Description:
"We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" is an instructional program based on the principles of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The program pairs student-tutors from JCU with 5th, 8th, and high school classrooms in the East Cleveland and Cleveland school districts. JCU tutors visit schools on a weekly basis to lead students in activities and exercises that reinforce learning about the Constitution and its role in our society.

What we do there:
Service participants in this activity lead students in grades 5-11 in activities based on the U.S. Constitution. Participants meet weekly to prepare lesson plans, and then visit the schools once a week to lead students in exercises that reinforce learning about the Constitution and its role in our society. The project culminates in a Mock Congressional Hearing held at John Carroll University at the end of the school year.
