Participants in this activity join teens and young adults with disabilities in "Pizza Bowls" and "Game Nights," in which all participants join in bowling, volleyball, basketball, ping pong, board games, and other fun activities. These programs involve participation with individuals with physical, sensory, or developmental disabilities; service participants should be patient and understanding. But the main thing is to provide interaction with the participants and have fun! Service participants who are uncomfortable working with this population are encouraged to select a different activity.
All students who are accepted for this service activity will be required to:
Make an intentional effort to interact with adaptive participants, not just with other JCU volunteers. The success of the program depends upon participants of all abilities interacting together.
Complete a short application and waiver in the transport van on the way to service.
